The mobile telephony market in New Zealand is currently dominated by an infrastructure duolopy consisting of networks operated by Vodafone NZ and Telecom Mobile. However in August 2009 a third mobile network operator has launched its services under the brand 2degrees mobile. Vodafone is clearly outperforming Telecom. While Vodafone’s mobile call revenues are increasing, Telecom has been declining. Mobile subscriber’s growth is expected to continue to taper off moving into 2010 as the mobile market reaches saturation.

Though most of the mobile companies of New Zealand offer lots of services for its subscribers, they are payable and anyway subscribers search for the free of charge ways to get free ringtones. If you are a simple person and you can afford yourself to obtain a normal mobile phone from any mobile companies sometime in the last 18 month. Annually mobile phone manufacturers seem to be adding more and more new features for their new models such as additional cameras for video calls allocating their handsets to the new technologies like 3G, video players and so much more. However, one of the most popular recent features has actually been the relatively simple ability to customize ringtone to mobile phone. Everyone wants to be different in its way so what better way to show it than your ringtone.
There is just one global problem for subscribers that mobile ringtones are expensive if they want to change it frequently. Depending on the carrier of New Zealand and ringtone itself, it can cost anywhere from settled amount for per download. The good news for New Zealand subscribers though is that there are ways to get free or at least cheaper ringtones, but you have to be very careful.
The easiest way to get free ringtones is from your mobile phone while you sign-up. Since the mobile phone markets in New Zealand and around the world are so competitive and it of course influence to decrease their prices to the ringtones and at the moment they include a certain number of free ringtone downloads to convince you to switch or sign up with them rather than a competing company. It has to be sure to ask though how many ringtones you get and within what time period they must be used, before you sign up. It is done not to have any nasty surprise later on.
Now some of you may think that is great if I don’t have a mobile phone, or if I want to switch to the companies, but what if I am happy with my company, can I still get a free ringtone? The reply is yes but it is a little less straightforward.
The most common way to get a free ringtone, if you already a mobile phone, is to look for companies that offering free ringtones to try their products or services. This can include fast food restaurants, drink companies, retail stores, or any other type of business that may feel it would be to their benefit to give away ringtones to increase their profit. Furthermore this only makes sense if you want to try the product or service offered. Besides you have to be sure to ask what you are getting into before paying any money.
